DAY TO DAY ITINERARY
Day1: Arrival Graz/Unterpremstätten
Information and distribution of bikes. The Cultural Capital 2003 awaits for an extraordinary city stroll.
Day 2: Graz/Unterpremstaetten – Sulmtal/Gleinstaetten (approx. 55 km)
Today you are cycling along a lot of pumpkin fields, as well as through contemplative villages like Stainz (castle with museum Joaneum). Along the well-known Schilcher wine route and “oil track bike path” you will reach the Sulmtal valley.
Day 3: Sulmta/Gleinstaetten – Gamlitz approx. 40 km
Wine wherever you cast your eyes! Most famous local grapes are Riesling wines and Weißburgunder white wine. Some climbs are rewarded by stunning views of the gentle hills of “Styrian Tuscany” and neighbouring Slovenia. You stay overnight in Gamlitz, where you should visit the very interesting wine museum inside Castle Gamlitz.
Day 4: Gamlitz – Bad Radkersburg approx. 45 km
After wine comes water – water in all possible forms washing down the last stage to Bad Radkersburg: river Mur as a guideline, Lake Röcksee to take a refreshing plunge, Petersquelle as a healthy drink and the thermal spas of Bad Radkersburg (historic old town with very well preserved overall appearance). Entrance to the thermal spa Parktherme is included!
Day 5: Excursion to Koech approx. 35 k
You cycle through the hilly landscape around Bad Radkersburg. We are sure that you will enjoy the impressive nature with its beautiful villages. You should plan a stop at a Heuriger to taste tangy wines and home-made delicacies!
Day 6: Bad Radkersburg – thermal spa of Loipersdorf approx. 60 km
From one thermal spa to the next one! Sunflowers, colourful pumpkin fields and a lot of fruit trees are leading you along the Austrian-Slovenian boarder to the well-known thermal village Loipersdorf.
Day 7: Thermae Loipersdorf – Gleisdorf – Graz approx. 55 km + train ride
Indulge in one of the numerous “Heurigen taverns ” about the high quality of the tasty Styrian food. You also have the possibility to make an excursion to the castle “Riegersburg” where you can visit a unique bird´s eye view. From Gleisdorf you go by train back to Graz.
