Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1 (Sun) Omišalj – Krk (approx. 1 hour walk)

Private journey to the starting point at Omišalj, a nice, quiet seaport on the isle of Krk. At 11 a.m. you may move into your cabin aboard the yacht. At 1 p.m. the ship casts off taking us to the town of Krk. On your way the boat stops so that we may dive from the boat to have a swim in the open sea. Having arrived at Krk our tour guide takes us for an interesting tour of the historic old town with its Francopan castle und numerous attractive churches

   Rab Old Town

Day 2 Goli Otok – Island of Rab (1 hour walk or cycle tour approx. 12-25 km)

After breakfast the boat takes us to Goli Otok (in Croatian: naked island), a tiny isle, on which from 1949-88 "Tito's Hawai"  - a high-security prison -   can be found. Although the isle is uninhabited, it may be visited. After a guided walking tour of Goli Otok we sail to the island of Rab, a place counted among the sunniest spots in Europe. In the Middle-Ages the island's fortified capital of the same name was built on a wedge-shaped headland - this is one of the highlights of the journey. The four famous belfries characterize the view of this beautiful, romantic town. In the afternoon we may go on a short cycling tour along the promenade; on our way we may take part in a sample of olive oil. A guided walking tour of the old part of Rab finishes this eventful day.

Day 3  Islands of Pag and Dugi Otok (approx. 3 hours of walking)

In the morning you cross over from Rab to Lun on the island of Pag. From there we go on a two-hour walk through centuries old olive groves. On our way we can stop to try the famous and delicious Pag cheese. Afterwards we set sail for the utmost south of the island of Dugi Otok. On the way there is time to swim again before finally entering the long, protected bay which today forms part of the conservation area of Telašćica. In the late afternoon another walk: this time into the nature park to the famous silver lake and further on to impressive steep cliffs.

Day 4 Island Dugi Otok (cycle tour approx. 13-30 km)

Dugi Otok is an ideal island for cycling or hiking – on a nearly car free ridge road there are new fantastic panoramic views of the tiny surrounding islands as well as of the mainland. Furthermore there are several small harbours which our boat may enter. This is why an eight-mile cycle tour is on the schedule this morning – a tour that may easily be expanded into an 19-mile ride. Alternatively you may go for an independent hike through the course of the morning. After lunch on board we are taken on a relaxing cruise with longer breaks for bathing. In the evening our boat is anchored in a quiet bay where we stay for the night.

Day 5 Islands of Molat & Lošinj (cycle tour approx. 9 km and 2 hours of walking)

After crossing to the flower island of Molat we cycle across from one side of this tiny island to the other. On the other side the boat will collect us and we travel on to the island of Lošinj. In the afternoon we start for a walk from Mali Lošinj, an old seafarer town and spa, with a large harbour, various cafés and colourfully painted houses along the spacious promenade with many picturesque bays to Veli Lošinj. The snug small harbour with many fishing boats is dominated by St. Anton, the tremen-dous local church. But you should not miss paying a visit to one of the most fantastic ice-cream parlours, too.

Sailing

Day 6  Islands of Lošinj and Cres (1 hour of walking and cycle tour 10-15 km )

In the morning the boat takes us to the artists' village of Osor, situated on a canal built by the Romans which separates the islands of Cres from that of Lošinj. On a guided tour we learn which association exists between Osor and the Argonauts known from Greek mythology, why there are no longer serpents on Lošinj, and why martens still are a popular means of payment in Croatia. Moreover the bay of Osor with its crystal-clear water tempts to go for a swim before travelling on to the town of Cres. In the afternoon we can go for a cycle tour along the promenade round the town. In the evening our tour guide may invite us to a short sightseeing tour round the Venetian-shaped old part of Cres.

Day 7 Opatja Riviera – Island of Krk (approx. 3 hours of walking)

After an entertaining cruise we approach Lovran on the famous Opatija-Riviera on the Istrian peninsula. From there an about three-hour hike along the promenade takes us up to the chic seaside resort of Opatija where the boat awaits us for a longer crossing, including swimming stops. In the evening the boat moors at Omisalji on the island of Krk. Returned to our starting point we may finish our eventful journey with a party together with the crew and group leaders after dinner.

Day 8   Omisalj (Disembarkation)

After breakfast guests will disembark by 9 am.
