DAY TO DAY ITINERARY
Day 1-7: Strass im Zillertal
Individual arrival in the town of Strass at the entrance to the Ziller Valley, about 1 1/2 hours from Munich by car.
DAILY ROUTE SUGGESTIONS:
Round trip Zillertal (approx. 40 km/25 miles)
After a ride with the vintage light railway you cycle slightly downhill through the valley along the River Ziller. Sights along the way: alpine dairy in Holenzen, cheese dairy at Fügen.
City of Innsbruck (approx. 48 km/30 miles)
Follow the green River Inn, cross the little village of Schwaz (silver mine museum) to Wattens. At Wattens experience the fantastic world of Swarovski Crystal.
Your eyes resting on the cliffs "Nordkette" of the Alps you cycle to the beautiful city of Innsbruck. On your way you might want to stop at Hall, famous for its salines. Stroll through Innsbruck until the train takes you back to Strass (included).
Day of rest / summer skiing
Relax at your hotel and enjoy its facilities. Or would you like to try summer skiing? - the Tuxer Gletscher (glacier) awaits you.
Achensee (approx. 45 km/ 28 miles)
Comfortable cycle tour along "Via Bavarica Tyrolensis" to the valley station of the light railway in Jenbach. Enjoy the fantastic view of the Tyrolean mountains on your ride on the worlds oldest cable car. At the plateau the largest lake in Tyrol offers lots of comfortable cycle tour options. You cycle downhill back to your hotel.
Inntal cycle path (approx. 25 km/ 16 miles)
Cycle through gentle landscape to the museum of Tyrolean farms - enjoy an interesting trip through time. Stroll through the museum cemetry cometimes called "Lustiger Friedhof" (funny cemetary) you will be surprided by the inscriptions. Along the Inntal cycle path you return to Strass.
Day 7: Individual departure or extension.
Airport / Transfers
We suggest flying into Munich or Salzburg, and departing from Vienna.
We can supply rail transfers from Munich Airport to Passau for approx. $55.00.
