RHONE ROUTE
Follow the river Rhone through three very different forms of Swiss countryside. We start at Goms, deep in the heart of the Alps, then cycle along dedicated paths mostly downhill through the Rhone Valley, as we pass through Brig into the sunny canton of Wallis. Again different scenery as we reach Lake Geneva, with the wide lake on one side and vineyards with famous names on the other side, all the way to Geneva. The Rhone Route unites extremely varied scenery with many cultural highlights.
Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Oberwald
Individual transfer to Oberwald.
Day 2: Oberwald - Brig approx. 45 km
Follow the spring waters of the young river Rhone, past wooden chalets and a marvellous mountain panorama. Mostly downhill cycling the first day is varied and fun. For more fun: take the cable car and your bike up to Aletsch glacier and downhill from +2000 m into the valley (fare not included).
Day 3: Brig - Sion approx. 65 km
The route gets flat and follows the banks of the river, sometimes criss-crossing through fertile fields. Stop at Brigerbath with the longest water-slide in Europe for fun and refreshment. The capital of Canton Wallis is Sion, with the fortresses Valère and Tourbillon waiting for you in evening.
Day 4: Sion – Aigle/Monthey approx. 55 km
Vineyards, vegetable and fruit dominate the scenery the next day. Worth a visit is the subterranean lake St-Léonard, Saillon-les-Bains with its thermal spa and wellbeing centre, as well as Martigny with Foundation Giannada.
Day 5: Aigle – Lausanne/Morges approx. 45 km
From Villeneuve onwards you can enjoy the views of sunny Lake Geneva, the panorama of the Savoy Alps and little wine producing villages of theLavaux region of the “Swiss Riviera”. Visit Château de Chillon and the lake-promenade of Montreux, with its famous jazz festival in July.

AARE ROUTE
A classic of cycling in Switzerland: although the Aare Route starts in Gletsch in a high alpine region, the river has carved a bicycle-friendly way through the rock. No climbs are worth mentioning. You cycle through the cantons Berner Oberland and Swiss Mittel-Land, cross the 3 Lakes Country and southern Jura. Enjoy charming provincial Switzerland, native farms and unspoilt nature.
Independent - 7 nts / 8 days

Paved cycle paths along the river; suitable for novice cyclists and families.
Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Meiringen
Individual transfer to Meiringen.
Day: 2 Meiringen – Interlaken approx. 30 km
A short stage to warm up along the traffic-free south bank of Lake Brienzersee. Enough time remains for a visit of Aare gorge, a refreshing visit of Giessbach falls, and a break at Iseltwald. Lake Brienzersee is your attractive companion throughout the day. The water is shimmering in all kinds of green, depending on the weather conditions.
Day 3: Interlaken – Thun approx. 30 km
Take your time exploring Interlaken this morning as Thun is only a halfday distance away. On the tour you will enjoy an overwhelming panorama with snow covered peaks, deep blue waters and dark brown wooden chalets.
Day 4: Thun – Bern approx. 30 km
The snow covered peaks are receding as you cycle with an undisturbed view over the plains of the Aare Valley. Fertile fields bearing rich crops herald the advent of Swiss Mittel Land. The well signposted Aare-Route brings you safely into the centre of Switzerland's political capital, Bern.
Day 5: Bern – Biel approx. 50 km
Leaving Bern you are greeted by Lake Wohlensee. Now a constant mix of either natural paradise or power plants begin. Vegetable country Grosses Moos and then Lake Bielersee dominate the scenery.
Day 6: Biel – Solothurn approx. 35 km
Between Biel and Büren the river Aare was “corrected” – but then it meanders through fertile coun-try to Solothurn. One special experience is the view of the storks of Altreu circling in the blue sky. Soon the spires of Solothurn’s cathedral greet from far away.
Day 7: Solothurn –Aarau approx. 55 km
Continue your tour and cycle to the medieval town of Wangen. Through lovely river meadows between Berken, Aarwangen and Wolfwil a picturesque part of the river follows, then you cycle through pedestrian zones into the old town centres of Olten and Aarau.
Day 8: Aarau
Individual departure or extra days may be added.
