Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Individual arrival in Dresden
Welcome briefing and distribution of rental bikes. Discover the world famous beauty of this city and visit Zwinger, Frauenkirche (church), palace and Semper opera.
Day 2: Saxon Switzerland approx. 45 km to 90 km
The bicycle path leads directly along the Elbe to Bad Schandau, to the Albrecht Castles and the Elbe pastures; on the Elbe Ferry to Castle Pillnitz. The Sandsteintafel Mountain with the fortress Königstein is on the right side of the Elbe. Return to Dresden by bike or by a suburban train.
Day 3: On the banks of the Elbe to Meissen approx. 25 km
Along the Saxon vineyards you cycle through Radebeul to Meissen with its picturesque alleys. Visit Albrechtsburg and the world famous Meissen china factory!
Day 4: The wine villages on the Elbe and Riesa approx. 35 km
Today you cycle through Germany’s most northern vineyards. The baroque castle Diesbar-Seußlitz with its wonderful park is a good place for rest. Accommodation is in the town of Riesa or Strehla.
Day 5: Riesa – Torgau approx. 45 km
In the Elbe town, Mühlberg you can see its former Cistercian monastery. Also worth seeing is Electoral Saxony’s milepost. You should not miss the Treblitz Tree Park with trees and bushes from five continents. Destination of the day is Torgau.
Day 6: Martin Luther’s traces approx. 65 km
Today you cycle the last kilometres of the tour in Saxony-Anhalt. Castles Lichtenberg and Pretzsch point in the direction of Wittenberg. The Luther Hall, Wittenberg’s most interesting building, has the biggest in the world historic collection on the Reformation.
Day 7: Departure or additional nights
Individual return journey or additional nights in Wittenberg or Dresden.
